Basically as an outsider to the art world, several years ago I seriously started to make art a part of my life. I had always been interested in art and drawing since I was a young child and never lost the interest. In 2006 after leaving the corporate world I started to take some Art History courses at the University of Toronto and things started to snowball from that point.

I was asked to write an art review for a student run newsletter out of the University of Toronto Art Centre. Considering myself a decent writer, but never about art, I plunged in with determination. Needless to say the review was published  and I went on to have other reviews appear in publications around campus. I was also fortunate enough to have a review in Canadian Art magazine and an article in YYZ Artists’ Outlet book De-Centred published.

Things started to accumulate from there, and I have accomplished many other art related activities which you can read in my Art Related Accomplishmens. This just means that if you are passionate about something ,just go out and look for opportunities to appear ,and most likely they will. I am living proof of that having no formal art background or education.

I want this website to be a compendium of all of my art writings. I wish to keep it as accessible to the general public as possible so that even the uninitiated person to the art world is able to come away with a sense of the art that was just revealed to them.  I know that a lot of art writing is very off-putting today with a lot of insider jargon, ambiguous statements and mumbo-jumbo only known to a select few.  Art should be available to everybody no matter what level of education or expertise. Also, I would like to present a wide range of eclectic art, not just “high” art. What may appeal to a seasoned art viewer may not always appeal to the un-initiated and vice versa. There should be no barriers or reluctance to liking what one likes. If it speaks to you, enjoy it!

So please feel free to leave your comments or suggestions and get out there to the galleries (don’t be shy), take an art  course, or write down your own opinions on art!
